Kate Bush 1979 Christmas Special

New York Magazine’s The Cut published an article a couple of days ago about Kate Bush’s Christmas special from 1979 (which, in a nutshell, is anything but a cliched holiday show). I’m a big fan of Kate Bush, but had never seen this TV special. So, of course, after reading the article I found it on YouTube. Like someone pointed out on Medium, the entire show plays like one of her music videos, but in long form. Music highlights - for me - included Ran Tan Waltz, December Will Be Magic Again, The Man With The Child In His Eyes, and Peter Gabriel’s Here Comes The Flood (yes, he’s her special guest). If you love Kate Bush’s music, definitely check it out, because obviously the opportunities to see her perform have been extremely limited over the course of her career. Happy holidays! -xo
