Adam Lippes has been steadily building his business since its founding in 2013. Known for his modern take on classic American sportswear silhouettes, Lippes has been steadily opening boutiques over the last year in cities where he knows his brand will work (a combination of honing in on online data from sales and building relationships the old-fashioned way-through trunk shows at wholesale partners). Learn more about her book and how “colour revolutionized everything from art movements to consumer products and of course fashion” in this Showstudio article.

Another book release, but this time from visual artist and filmmaker Lee Shulman. His latest tome – Dressed to Impress: The Anonymous Project – is based on a box of vintage slides he bought from an anonymous seller back in 2017. Since then, Shulman has sorted his more than 1 million slides into an archive documenting various themes, from domestic scenes to the open road. With Dressed to Impress, Shulman focuses on the golden years of Kodachrome between 1950 and 1970 and the amazing style sense and outfits of the subjects. “It’s not just uncovering history,” says Shulman, “it’s uncovering an emotional moment that feels strong to me.”

Porodina’s work has a dreamy, surreal quality and strong narrative. Passport design became a trending topic this past month after Switzerland released its latest version of the international travel document. The minimalist design has been obsessed over across the globe from its creative layout to the excellent use of fonts and contour lines that resemble the Swiss cartography. Sound a little nerdy? Perhaps, but uniting function and form is what modern design is all about. Check out Tatler’s take on eight of the best passport designs here.
