On The Edge

Back in August, I was fortunate to work with Denver Life Magazine on a couple of editorial stories: Their Fall 2021 fashion feature and also a profile on four local personalities and their personal style. After a rather quiet summer fashion editorial season, it was good to get back into shooting a 10-page feature. It was also great to shoot with a team that continues to push for creative and editorial opportunities, especially at a time when most regional publications are using staff photographers or stock images for their pages.

For this particular feature, we worked with five models, which kept our one day shoot moving at a pretty quick pace. The focus for this story was on 8 to 10 trends for the season and how to wear them, since women are still rediscovering their wardrobes - and what’s missing from them. As we continue to push through this pandemic, the importance of fashion, how it reflects our current lives and how it changes post-pandemic still remain to be seen, but it’s an interesting time to be a fashion stylist and watching all of this as it happens. -xo
